A hybrid still relies on a conventional 12V battery to power up its computers and close the high-voltage relays. If that little battery is weak, the dashboard stays dark and the car will not enter ready mode, even though the main pack is full. These 12V units are often tucked in the boot or under a seat and wear out quietly. We replace the 12V auxiliary battery only; we do not touch the high-voltage system.
