What Dubai does to a car battery
- Slow, stop-and-go traffic keeps engine revs low while the AC, screens and lights run flat out, so the battery gets less charge than a highway run would give it.
- Start-stop cars are common here, and every restart in a queue is another cycle on the battery. Those cars need an AGM or EFB battery, not a standard one.
- Tower living means short hops between basements — home, office, mall — with the engine rarely running long enough to replace what each start takes out.
- Summer under-bonnet heat is the same enemy as anywhere in the UAE: it ages the battery quietly, then shows up on a restart after a short stop.
Where we find cars in Dubai
A large share of our Dubai calls are basement and podium car parks in the tower districts, where a tow truck cannot easily reach and a second car cannot get alongside for a jump. Send the building name, the parking level and the bay or pillar number, and tell security a technician is on the way. In mall car parks, a photo of the nearest zone marker saves time. On Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road or Emirates Road, get the car onto the shoulder, stay clear of the traffic side and send the pin.
