Homes are compact, so most cars sit on a short driveway or kerbside bay right by the front door. It is a practical area for practical cars, and more and more of them are hybrids. People are often surprised that a hybrid can fail to start because of a small 12V battery, but it is a call we get regularly from these streets.

Where we find cars in The Springs
Send the community number, street and villa number with a pin on your driveway, not the nearest lake. Driveways are short, so if a second car is parked behind yours, have it moved so the technician can reach the front. Entry is through the community gate; a resident contact who can confirm the visit helps.
Hybrids still depend on a small 12V battery
A hybrid has a large high-voltage battery for driving, but it still needs a small 12V battery to wake the computers and switch the system on. That 12V battery is often smaller than in a normal car and can sit in the boot or under a seat. When it weakens, the car shows warnings or will not enter 'ready' mode at all. We replace the 12V battery; we do not work on the high-voltage pack.
Before you message us
- If your hybrid will not go into 'ready', mention it is a hybrid when you book.
- Hybrids left unused for a couple of weeks can drain their 12V battery; drive them regularly.
- Have a second car on the drive moved before the technician arrives.
