City Walk is a Meraas neighbourhood near Downtown Dubai where open-air shopping streets sit beneath residential buildings, reached mainly from Al Safa Street. Our calls here come from two groups: residents in the building car parks, and visitors whose car would not start after an evening out. Tell us whether you are in residential or retail visitor parking, then the building or car park number and level. Retail car parks are large and look alike, so note the zone sign. If you head back to a restaurant while waiting, leave a contact who can return to the car when the technician calls.
Summer damage, winter failure
Heat does the damage, but cooler weather often reveals it. Through July and August high temperatures quietly wear down a battery's plates and reduce its capacity, while it still starts the car in the heat. When evenings cool, the battery's chemistry slows a little and it can no longer deliver what the starter needs. That is why a wave of failures often arrives in the first cool weeks of the season.
