Hatta is part of Dubai but sits well away from the city, an exclave in the Hajar Mountains reached by a long drive through desert and then hills. We do come out here, but it is not a quick trip, so please call before booking so we can confirm timing and bring the right battery the first time. Most of our Hatta visits are to visitors' cars at the dam, a hotel or a campsite, and to residents' cars in the town.

Where we find cars in Hatta

Send the exact spot on a paved road or in a car park: the dam car park, the heritage village, your lodge or the house. Describe any unpaved track clearly; we can only work where the service vehicle can drive safely, and off-road recovery is a separate matter. Mobile coverage dips in some valleys, so share a second contact number if you can.

Mountain climbs, heat and a long drive home

Getting to Hatta means a long run followed by steep climbs with the air conditioning working hard, and the car often then sits in an exposed car park at the dam or a trailhead through the hottest part of the day. That combination is tough on an older battery. Visitors who stop and restart the engine at every viewpoint, or keep the stereo and lights going at a campsite, add to the load.
