Charger and Challenger batteries live in the boot
On the modern Charger and Challenger, the battery is mounted in the boot to improve weight balance, with jump posts under the bonnet. A roadside helper who connects to those posts may get the car started, but the battery itself is in the back. The technician will need the boot emptied, including any subwoofer boxes that sit over the battery cover.
HEMI and SRT engines need strong cranking
A 6.4-litre HEMI or supercharged Hellcat engine takes serious current to turn over, especially after heat has worn the battery down. These cars are also often driven hard at weekends and parked for days in between. We match the cold-cranking rating on your existing battery and recommend a maintainer for cars that stand for long periods.
Diesel Ram trucks carry two batteries
Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups with the Cummins diesel use two batteries to deliver the current the diesel needs. When one weakens it drags the other down, so both should be tested and usually replaced together. Petrol Rams use a single battery, sized to the engine and equipment.
