Liwa is a crescent of villages, date farms and desert resorts on the northern edge of the Empty Quarter, deep in Al Dhafra. It is a long way from Abu Dhabi city and spread over a wide area, so an 'oasis' pin tells us very little. Date-palm farming is a large part of its heritage and daily life.
Villages, farms and desert resorts are scattered across a wide area.

Where we find cars in Liwa Oasis

Winches, fridges and light bars in the dunes

Off-road trucks around Liwa often carry winches, fridges, compressors and extra lights, all pulling from a battery designed for normal driving.
