DS Automobiles began as a premium line within Citroën and became a separate Stellantis brand in the mid-2010s. Its cars, the DS 3 Crossback, DS 4, DS 7 Crossback and DS 9 saloon, are small-volume luxury models with a lot of electronics: camera-guided suspension on some versions, night vision, matrix lighting and large digital cockpits. Several come as E-Tense plug-in hybrids or electrics, so the battery we fit depends on which version you have.

What a DS typically takes
We do not publish a specification range for DS because we would be guessing. Send us the model and year on WhatsApp and we confirm the exact battery, the price and the arrival time in one message.
Electronics that react to a tired battery
Features such as Active Scan Suspension, adaptive lighting and the large twin displays depend on stable voltage. A weak battery rarely just refuses to crank; instead the car may show a series of warnings, reset its infotainment or disable start-stop. A proper load test tells us whether the battery is the cause before anything else is suspected.
E-Tense models keep a 12V battery
The DS 7 E-Tense 4x4, DS 9 E-Tense and DS 3 E-Tense combine or replace the engine with a high-voltage battery, yet they still use a 12V battery to start their systems. When it fails, the car may not enter Ready mode. We replace the 12V battery only and leave the high-voltage system to the dealer.
Early DS models were Citroëns
The first DS3, DS4 and DS5 were sold as Citroëns and share battery layouts with Citroën models of that period. If your car carries both badges or the paperwork says Citroën, that is normal. The label on the fitted battery confirms the size and whether it is an EFB or AGM unit for start-stop.

- DS 7 Crossback
- Premium SUV with heavy electronics; petrol versions need AGM or EFB, and E-Tense cars have a separate 12V battery.
- DS 3 Crossback
- Compact crossover; the electric E-Tense version relies on a 12V auxiliary battery we can replace.
- DS 4
- Premium hatchback with start-stop; match the battery technology shown on the existing label.
- DS 9
- Executive saloon, often plug-in hybrid; test the 12V battery if the car will not power up.
- DS 5
- Earlier hatchback from the Citroën era; send the year and engine so the battery matches.
- DS 3
- Original small hatchback, usually second-hand now; slow starts in the heat are the first sign.
