Geo was a badge General Motors used in North America from 1989 to 1997 to sell small cars engineered with its Japanese partners. The Metro and Tracker came from Suzuki, the Prizm was a Corolla built with Toyota in California, and the Spectrum and Storm were Isuzu designs. A Geo in the UAE today is a rare, usually privately imported survivor. The useful point for battery work is that each one follows its Japanese donor car, not a GM parts list.

What a GEO typically takes
We do not publish a specification range for GEO because we would be guessing. Send us the model and year on WhatsApp and we confirm the exact battery, the price and the arrival time in one message.
Look up the donor car, not the badge
Parts catalogues here rarely list Geo, but they do list the Suzuki Swift and Vitara, the Toyota Corolla and the Isuzu Gemini and Impulse of the same years. Those cars share the battery tray, terminal layout and cable lengths with their Geo twins. Tell us which Geo you have and its year, and we bring the battery that suits the related Japanese model.
Small engines, small batteries
The Metro was built to be light and frugal, most often with a three-cylinder engine, and its battery is correspondingly small. Fitting a bigger unit because it seems stronger can mean a case that overhangs the tray or a clamp that no longer holds. We keep to the original footprint and choose the best cranking figure available within it, which suits these engines well.
Old wiring in Gulf heat
Every Geo is now more than a quarter of a century old, and heat hardens insulation, loosens crimped terminals and corrodes earth points. A new battery on a car with a failing alternator or a green, crusted clamp will not last. While fitting, we measure charging voltage and look over the main cables, and tell you if something besides the battery needs attention.
GEO models: what to know
- Metro
- Suzuki-built small hatchback, also sold as a convertible; keep to the compact original battery size.
- Prizm
- Corolla-based sedan assembled with Toyota in California; fitment follows the Corolla of the same generation.
- Tracker
- Compact 4x4 twin of the Suzuki Vitara and Sidekick; added lights or a winch call for extra capacity.
- Storm
- Sporty coupe built by Isuzu alongside the Impulse; rare now, so confirm the year and engine before we come.
- Spectrum
- Early Isuzu-designed compact from the Gemini family; seldom seen today and often stored for long spells.

Questions, answered.
Not usually. Although the Geo name is unfamiliar here, each model shares its battery with a Suzuki, Toyota or Isuzu that suppliers know well. With the model and year we can match the size and terminal side before setting off.
It needs a sound, firmly clamped battery more than a special one. Desert tracks shake a loose battery apart, so we check the hold-down, and if lights or a winch have been added we suggest the highest capacity that still fits the tray.
