LDV began as a British van maker in Birmingham. After it closed in 2009, China's SAIC bought the name and the van design, and today LDV is the badge SAIC uses in markets such as Australia and New Zealand for the vehicles it sells elsewhere as Maxus. An LDV-badged vehicle in the UAE is usually an import or a transfer from one of those markets, which is worth knowing when choosing a battery: go by what is fitted, not by assumptions from the local catalogue.

What a LDV typically takes

We do not publish a specification range for LDV because we would be guessing. Send us the model and year on WhatsApp and we confirm the exact battery, the price and the arrival time in one message.

Imported spec, local battery

Vehicles built for Australian or New Zealand buyers can differ in engine, trim and accessories from the Gulf versions of the same model. The battery tray may carry a size that is not the local default. A photo of the existing battery label, with the capacity, case code and which side the positive terminal sits, lets the technician bring an exact fit rather than a near miss.

Working vans, working batteries

The V80 and Deliver 9 are high-roof vans that spend their days loading, unloading and idling with the doors open. The T60 pickup often carries a canopy with lights or a fridge. All of these add up to a heavier cycling load than a family car sees, so a quality battery at the original capacity or above lasts noticeably longer in UAE summers than a bargain unit.

Electric vans keep a 12V battery

The eDeliver 3 and eDeliver 9 are battery-electric vans, but their lights, locks and control units still run on a conventional 12V battery. If a van will not switch on despite showing charge, the 12V unit is the first suspect. We replace that battery only; the traction pack is a dealer job.
