LEVC, the London Electric Vehicle Company, builds the modern version of the London black cab in Coventry under Geely ownership. The TX taxi and the VN5 van based on it are range-extended electric vehicles: an electric motor drives the wheels, and a small petrol engine charges the battery when needed. Both are rare in the UAE, but they are here, and like every electrified vehicle they depend on an ordinary 12V battery to start the process.

What a LEVC typically takes
We do not publish a specification range for LEVC because we would be guessing. Send us the model and year on WhatsApp and we confirm the exact battery, the price and the arrival time in one message.
Two battery systems, one we touch
The TX and VN5 carry a large high-voltage pack for driving and a separate 12V battery for the control units, lights, locks and the contactors that connect the main pack. When the 12V battery fails, the vehicle may refuse to go ready even with a full charge. That 12V battery is what we test and replace; nothing on the high-voltage side is touched.
Taxi duty and heat
A cab or delivery van spends hours with doors opening, the cabin cooled and screens lit, often with the vehicle switched on but stationary. The 12V battery supports all of that. In UAE heat, and with that duty cycle, test it at every service; a weak 12V battery tends to fail without much warning on this kind of vehicle.
