Luxgen is a Taiwanese brand created in 2009 by Yulon Motor, the company that has long assembled Nissans in Taiwan. It began with the Luxgen7 MPV and 7 SUV, later added the U6 and URX SUVs and the S5 saloon, and more recently the electric N7, developed with Foxconn's Foxtron. Luxgen was marketed in parts of the Middle East for a time, so an older one in the UAE is possible, though it remains an uncommon sight.

What a Luxgen typically takes

Connected cabins from the start
Early Luxgens were sold on their Think+ system, which bundled navigation, telematics and cameras at a time when few mainstream cars offered that. Electronics like these draw a little current even when the car is locked, and an ageing battery in a hot car loses the margin to cope. If the screen reboots or the clock keeps resetting, have the battery tested before cranking fails.
The electric N7
The N7 is a fully electric SUV, yet it keeps a conventional 12V battery to boot its computers and connect the drive pack. If that battery sags, the car can refuse to wake even though it showed plenty of range the day before. We supply and fit the 12V unit; anything on the high-voltage side goes to a qualified EV workshop.
No dealer battery to order
With few Luxgens in the country, a dealer-supplied replacement is rarely a practical option. Fortunately, the petrol models we have seen use ordinary lead-acid formats rather than anything proprietary. We read the size, capacity and terminal layout from the old unit and bring an equivalent rated for sustained high temperatures.
