Maruti Suzuki is India's largest carmaker, a joint venture that began in the 1980s with the tiny Maruti 800. Many Suzukis sold in the UAE, including the Swift, DZire, Baleno, Ciaz and Ertiga, are built in Maruti's Indian plants and badged Suzuki for export. A car wearing the Maruti badge itself is usually a personal import from India. Either way, these are light cars with small engines, and their batteries are compact and inexpensive, but also quick to suffer in Gulf heat.

What a Maruti typically takes

Small batteries feel the heat first
An Alto, Wagon R or Swift carries a small battery tucked into a compact, hot engine bay. There is little reserve capacity to begin with, and a UAE summer takes it away quickly. A car that starts fine in the morning but hesitates after an hour parked in the sun is showing the usual early warning.
Smart Hybrid adds a second battery
Ertiga, Ciaz, XL6, Brezza and some other models were sold with Maruti's Smart Hybrid mild-hybrid system, which pairs the normal lead-acid battery with a small lithium-ion battery to support start-stop and energy recovery. The lithium unit is a dealer part. The lead-acid starter battery is replaced as usual, and the technician will check which system your car has before starting.
Indian-market imports
A Maruti-badged car brought from India may differ from the Suzuki version sold here in engine, trim and even battery size. The label on the existing battery is the best guide: capacity, case size and which side the positive terminal sits on are all we need to bring the right one.

Not usually. The lead-acid starter battery wears out like any other; the lithium hybrid battery is separate and is a dealer item. The technician tests the starter battery on site.
