Before Maybach became a trim level on Mercedes models, it was a standalone brand. From 2002 to 2012 Daimler built the Maybach 57 and 62, hand-finished V12 limousines named after their approximate length in decimetres. The Gulf was one of their important markets, and a number remain here, often with low mileage and long spells in a garage. They are among the most electrically demanding cars of their generation, and they punish a weak battery.

What a Maybach typically takes

A limousine full of motors
Reclining rear seats, electric curtains, rear screens, a cooled bar compartment and, on some cars, a glass roof panel that changes opacity all run from the 12V system. When the battery weakens, owners notice strange behaviour from these features before the engine itself struggles to start. Any unusual electrical fault on a Maybach deserves a battery test before a repair bill.
Long rests are the enemy
Many Maybach 57 and 62 cars are now kept as collector pieces or for occasions, and they can go weeks without running. Their control modules keep drawing current in that time. A battery that is repeatedly run flat loses capacity quickly, and in UAE heat that process speeds up. A battery maintainer connected whenever the car is stored is the single best protection.
Know where to look
As on the Mercedes flagships of the same era, the main battery is not found by simply lifting the bonnet; on these cars it is housed in the boot. The technician will need access there, so plan for the boot to be cleared. The exact size and terminal layout should be taken from the fitted battery, because originals are now well over a decade old and may have been replaced before.
