NIO is a Shanghai-based electric carmaker known for its swappable drive batteries, which can be exchanged at a station in a few minutes instead of charged. Abu Dhabi's CYVN Holdings became a major investor in the company in 2023, and NIO cars are gradually appearing on UAE roads, some through official channels and some as private imports. Like every EV, a NIO depends on a small low-voltage battery that has nothing to do with the swappable pack.

What a Nio typically takes
We do not publish a specification range for Nio because we would be guessing. Send us the model and year on WhatsApp and we confirm the exact battery, the price and the arrival time in one message.
The swap pack is not the problem
When a NIO will not unlock or power up, owners naturally think of the big battery. More often the culprit is the low-voltage system that runs the computers, door handles and screens and that closes the contactors on the drive pack. If it is flat, the car is dark regardless of charge. That low-voltage battery is what the technician tests first.
Check the battery type before booking
Different EV makers and model years use different low-voltage batteries: some a conventional 12V lead-acid unit, others a lithium module with its own electronics. We replace conventional 12V batteries on site. If your NIO has a lithium unit, the technician will tell you plainly rather than fit an unsuitable part, and can still test and support the system.
Parked outside in summer
Connected features, sentry-style monitoring and remote climate all wake a NIO while it is parked. In UAE summer heat that constant low draw shortens the life of the low-voltage battery. Keeping the drive battery reasonably charged helps, since the car tops up the 12V system from it.
