Budget models, conventional batteries
The Symbol, Logan, Sandero and early Duster were designed with the Dacia family to be simple and cheap to run. Most use a standard flooded battery without start-stop, which keeps replacement straightforward. They are popular with fleets and ride-hailing drivers, and high daily mileage in the heat wears batteries out on schedule, often after around two summers.
Newer Renaults may need EFB or AGM
Recent Captur, Megane, Arkana, Austral and Koleos versions can come with engine start-stop, which calls for an EFB or AGM battery rather than a basic one. Hybrids such as the E-Tech full hybrids also depend on a 12V battery to switch on. Check the label on the fitted battery; if it says EFB or AGM, the replacement must match.
Tight packaging under the bonnet
On several Renaults the battery sits under a plastic cover or behind air-intake ducting, and on some the terminals are hard to reach. Forcing a slightly oversized battery into the space can crack the cover or strain the cables. We bring the exact case size and take the time to refit trims and ducts properly.

Very often. A slow crank after the car has stood in the sun is the classic sign of a tired battery. We test the battery and the charging output on site before replacing anything.
Yes. Alongside the hybrid or electric drive battery there is a 12V battery that runs the electronics. We replace that 12V unit; the high-voltage battery is dealer work.
It is not advisable. A standard battery wears out quickly under frequent restarts and may trigger warnings. Stay with EFB or AGM if that is what the car came with.
