ROX Motor is a young Chinese brand whose first model, the ROX 01, is a large extended-range SUV. Its wheels are driven by electric motors, while a petrol engine works as a generator to recharge the high-voltage battery on longer trips, so the engine never drives the wheels directly. Despite all that electrical hardware, the car still depends on a conventional 12V battery to unlock, boot its control units and bring the drive system online.

What a Rox typically takes

Two power sources, one small battery
Owners sometimes assume the petrol engine will rescue a flat car, but on an extended-range design the generator is controlled by the same electronics the 12V battery powers. If the 12V side is too weak to boot those systems, neither the electric drive nor the generator will come on. A jump may get the car going, yet a battery that needed one in UAE heat should be tested soon after.
A recent car, so check warranty first
Cars from 2023 onward are still young, and many will be within the seller's warranty. Before paying for a replacement, find out whether the 12V battery is covered, since some warranties treat it separately from the high-voltage pack. If you would rather we test or replace it, we note the battery details we fitted so your service history stays clear.
Parked-mode loads in a big SUV
A large, well-equipped SUV carries many screens, cameras and connected services that wake periodically while the car is parked. Several days locked in a hot car park can be enough to weaken an ageing 12V battery. On most electrified designs, leaving the car switched on in its ready state for a while lets it top up the 12V battery from the main pack.
