Three parent companies behind one badge
Most Scions use Toyota components, but the FR-S draws on Subaru's flat-four engine and the iA on Mazda's engineering. Battery sizes and hold-down styles follow whichever company built the car. Telling us the exact model avoids guesswork, and a photo of the fitted battery settles it.
Small batteries in small cars
The xD, xA, iQ and FR-S carry compact batteries chosen for weight and space. They have less reserve to survive a week parked in an open car park during summer, particularly with a dashcam or tracker connected. When a small Scion clicks instead of cranking, the battery is the first thing to test.

For most models, yes, because they were built from Toyota parts. The FR-S and iA are exceptions tied to Subaru and Mazda engineering, so we check the model first.
It has a small battery and a constant standby draw. In UAE heat, a week or two of rest can leave it too weak to start. Regular drives or a maintenance charger help.
